Our Story
We are a legacy law office, which is an endowment, handed down from a predecessor to the next generation, representing an inheritance, not just of the practice of law, but of the practice of law with a purpose to deliver outstanding legal representation with service tailored to the needs of each client. L & S Law Office was initially founded by Mr. Lakhinder Bir Singh in the year 1972, based in the beautiful city, Chandigarh. Thereafter, it saw enormous growth over the period. The office seized the outstanding opportunities that came with the passage of time, which provided new avenues of growth to the legal profession. In the year 2009, Sandeep Singh (partner), along with his father, took over the reins of the office and in a short span, took the office to its new heights.
Over the years, L & S Law Offices has grown in size, by developing highly talented associates, capable of expanding and diversifying the office’s areas of legal practice. Today, the office offers a full range of legal services across India & Abroad with a broad spectrum of practice in almost all areas of law.

HMJ Sardar Harnam Singh
Born in 1889, HMJ Sardar Harnam Singh was a great scholar & legal paragon of his time, which is evident through his in depth knowledge in the books he wrote on law dealing with Specific Relief Act and Sales of Goods Act 1930. He retired in 1944 as the Chief Judicial Officer for Simla Hill States, posted at Solan, Bhagat State. He was the man of words, knowledge, intelligence and wisdom. He was a grandfather of our founder, Mr. Lakhinder Bir Singh and great grandfather of our co-founder, Mr. Sandeep Singh.
HMJ Harbans Singh
Born in 1912, HMJ Harbans Singh, has made a name for himself in the legal field during his lifetime. Talking about his professional background, he was raised to the Bench of Punjab & Haryana High Court in 1958 & retired as a Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana High Court in 1974. Before this, he topped the Bar at Law examination (1936) of Lincoln’s Inn, London and joined the Bar of Lahore High Court in 1936, where he practiced for 11 years before being selected as Additional District Judge and thereafter, he remained as District & Session Judge in different districts of Punjab & Delhi. He was a father of our founder, Mr. Lakhinder Bir Singh and grandfather of our co-founder, Mr. Sandeep Singh.

Our Founder, Lakhinder Bir Singh, comes from the family of legal icons. He was encouraged by his father, who retired as Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana High Court at Chandigarh, to explore the legal avenues and eventually his skills were put in law. Long before joining law college, Mr. Lakhinder used to accompany his grandfather & father to observe the legal field & its areas. Since then, he has been proving his mettle in the legal cases. His wealth of legal knowledge, decades of experience and passion for social causes makes him a trusted advisor to many & a guiding mentor to our office. Since, he comes from a family of lawyers & judges, he fondly consider his grandfather namely Sardar Harman Singh & father namely Harban Singh, who served as Judges & Chief Justice of Punjab & Haryana High court at Chandigarh, a role model and inspiration and further reminisces – “I grew up watching my grandfather & father prepare for their cases, wear their crisp bands, with utmost discipline and walk out of the house in complete confidence, the confidence of a jurist to deliver the justice”

Our Partner, Sandeep Singh, being the descendent of generations of lawyers, has made his mark with a multi-faceted practice today, that reflects his distinctive legal experience, blended with unique perspective on law. His professional and personal grooming had taken place under the guidance and tutelage of some of the best legal minds of the time, including his grandfather and father, who is the founder of this office. At each stage of his career, he has acquired special skills that make him an all rounded lawyer that he is today, who is also highly effective as a business negotiator. He has been able to provide a more individualized and boutique touch for his clients. He takes a hands-on approach and he likes to be more creative and think outside of the box in the style and strategy for each case. He is a thought leader in the office and a trusted advisor to his clients. He has been lauded for his professional accomplishments and has several notable awards & achievements in his pocket. He says- “I come from a long line of lawyers and legal icons. I guess you could say law was in the very air that I breathed. The mentorship and guidance I received from my grandfather and later from my father is priceless. From my ancestors, I have learned to never give up. They never backed down from a challenge.
